Italy Seasonal Work Visa for Agriculture & Tourism
Italy's Seasonal Work Permit — Decreto Flussi
Decreto Flussi is Italy's annual quota system for bringing in workers from outside the EU. Every year, Italy sets aside a large, dedicated share of these spots specifically for seasonal work in agriculture and tourism — two sectors the country consistently relies on international labor to keep running.
Italy allocated 88,000 seasonal spots for 2026, rising to 89,000 in 2027 and 90,000 in 2028, with agriculture and tourism making up more than half of Italy's entire 3-year immigration plan. No Italian language test is required to apply — this is purely about your availability and your employer connection.
Applications only open during specific "Click Day" windows set by the government each year, and your Italian employer submits the application on your behalf. Missing the window means waiting for the next cycle, so being ready before it opens is the real advantage here.
If you're open to hands-on seasonal work in agriculture or tourism, this structured, government-run program is worth preparing for in advance. Let's get you ready for the next window.
How the Timing Works
You can't apply directly yourself — your Italian employer, often through an industry association, submits the application on your behalf
Your work authorization (nulla osta) is now valid for 12 months, extended from the previous 6, giving you more breathing room
The permit is tied to one season, one employer, and one sector — a defined, temporary arrangement rather than an open-ended stay
Agriculture and tourism each get their own Click Day date — missing it means waiting for the next cycle
